Message From The Managing editors
Dr. Dnyanesh M. Belekar, Founding Managing editor (March 2014 to May 2015)
Dear friends, it gives me an immense pleasure to deliver this inaugural issue of our online journal to all of you. This is our official publication of Staff Research Society [SRS] of K. J. Somaiya Medical College & Research Centre, Sion, Mumbai.
We have started this journal keeping in mind to nurture all the young potential talent of various faculties of Medicine. This is an academic platform which has been created to shed all the inhibitions of young authors’ specially undergraduate as well as postgraduate students. Here we invite articles under 6 different categories to begin with from various medical researchers. The process of accepting the articles, their peer reviewing & subsequent publication have been kept very simple and user friendly.
We are really happy to have Shri Sameer Somaiya, Chairman of Somaiya Group as Patron for this journal that has proven quite an inspiration to all of us. We are also blessed with best wishes from our Chairman, our respected Dean, Dr (Mrs)Geeta Niyogi madam, who was kind enough to pen down her words of wisdom for this journal. We have quite a dedicated team of Teachers on our Editorial Board. We are very fortunate to have an Eminent Medical Fraternity from both National & International arena on our Advisory Panel to guide us throughout this intellectual journey of our journal. We also have a team of highly talented reviewers who have readily agreed to take out time from their extremely busy schedule to review articles for us.
I am extremely thankful to Mr. Mahaveer & Miss. Harshada from Vidyavihar Campus and Dr. Aditya Sathe from Somaiya Medical College who has given us all the technical support needed to build the site & its designing.
Most importantly, I am thankful to God almighty for giving me the vision & strength to start this journal & have remained with all of us throughout & will be with us in future also.
In this inaugural issue, we have articles from Department of Microbiology, Psychiatry, Preventive Medicine, Dermatology, Surgery, Orthopaedics and Medical Education Technology.
I am looking forward for all the medical fraternity’s constructive criticism towards our new journal which will help us improvising ourselves better in future. I wish all our readers happy reading of this inaugural issue of ‘Somaiya Medical Journal’!!
